Tracy S. Penn passed away from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ.
Tracy was born on May 3, 1960 in Plainfield, NJ. He grew up in Watchung and graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School. He spent most of his life in Somerset and Hunterdon County before recently settling in Belle Mead, NJ. He was employed by Key-Tech Industries in Keyport, NJ.
Tracy’s entrepreneurial spirit led him through a number of careers, as with each creative endeavor he looked for new ways to succeed. His spirit of adventure never left him. His favorite pastimes included restoring old boats, bow hunting, or just spending time outdoors with his dog, Gunny. He was an avid writer and blogger, but he was a musician at heart, always at his best with a guitar in his hands. Most of all, his life revolved around his daughter, Shannon and his wife, Kerry, whom he loved above all else.
Tracy was predeceased by his brother John Penn, Jr. He is survived by his father, former State Assemblyman Jack Penn and mother Carol Penn, siblings Debra Joren and Tyler and Craig Penn and their families. He will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 6 p.m. at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Midland School, P.O. Box 5026, North Branch, NJ 08876.
