Maureen Patricia Kelleher (Nee Martin) passed away on December 21, 2012, after a short but nevertheless courageous battle with cancer. Maureen was born in Holyoke, MA on August 7, 1962 to Edward W. and Anne M. Martin (O’Leary).
Growing up in Somerville, Maureen attended Immaculate Conception Grammar School and Immaculata High School, and graduated from Stonehill College in North Easton MA.
Maureen was predeceased by her mother Anne and her godparents Ruth and George Murray. Survivors include her father Edward, her husband Kevin Kelleher, her brother Kevin and his wife Diane of Duxbury, MA, Billy and his wife Joanne of Hillsborough, NJ, and her sister and best friend Kathy and her husband Ed of Branchburg, NJ, as well as niece and nephews Daniel, Kellie, Kyle, Kevin and Liam along with many loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Maureen was a fan of the NY Giants, NY Rangers and Notre Dame Football (12-0). She also enjoyed vacations to the Outer Banks and other shore points with family and friends.
There will always be a beer and a shot of good Irish whiskey hoisted in your memory every St. Patrick’s Day and at Ed’s Annual (quickly becoming legendary) Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Party. We’ll love you and miss you until we all croak!
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Steeplechase Cancer Center, 30 Rehill Avenue, Somerville, NJ 08876. Visitation at Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville will be from 5pm to 8pm Friday, December 28. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville. Interment to follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater.
