Marion Greasheimer passed away peacefully Monday, April 11 at the age of 92. She was born 1918 the daughter of Mary (Quinn) and William Greasheimer. She grew up in Manville, attended St. Joseph's Grade School in Bound Brook, graduated from St. Peter's High School, Washington Secretarial School and attended Douglas College.
She was predeceased by 3 sisters, Florence Ryan, Marguerite McCarron, Mae Hoch and 2 brothers Bernard Greasheimer and John Greasheimer.
Marion worked as an executive secretary at Johns Manville for 15 years. She was a member of the religious order of Missionaries of the Kingship of Christ secular Institute for 50 years. She moved to Washington, DC where the American branch of the Missionaries was located and during her time there worked as a government employee. In the mid 1980's Marion moved to SanFrancisco to establish a western chapter of the Missionaries. She worked with the Franciscan Foreign Student Center and was able to travel world wide due to the hospitality she showed to the students in America.
Over 20 years ago Marion decided to return to her New Jersey family. The past few years she resided at McCarrick Care Center in Somerset where she was cared for with compassion and kindness. Surviving are her nieces Pat Hendricks of Bound Brook, Lynn Daley of Bridgewater, Pat Ryan and Rita Aitken of Monroe, Kathleen Ryan of Brooklyn, NY and many great-nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am on Friday, April 15 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. Visiting hours are from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday, April 14 at the Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville.
