Manahawkin
James Robert Story, of Manahawkin, passed away on July 14 after a lenthy illness. Jim was predeceased by his father, Thomas, who passed away on December 21, 2010. He lived most of his life in Hillsborough and attended Immaculate Conception School, Hillsborough Middle School and graduated in 1993 from Hillsborough High School. Jim enlisted in the Navy and served two years at the Oceana Navy/Marine base in Virginia. After his discharge, he was a security guard at the Duke's Estate in Hillsborough. He was a volunteer firefighter and EMS in Hillsborough and an EMS volunteer in Stafford Township in 2005. Jim received the 1999-2000 Chief's Award for outstanding performance in the line of duty while on the Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad. He completed the EMT Combined Provider Course and was employed as an EMT in the Morristown Memorial Hospital for several years. After moving to Manahawkin in 2003, Jim was employed by the D&C Senior Care in Barnegat and in 2009 received the Caregiver of the Month Award. He and his late father were also members in the Village Harbor Fishing Club.
Jim is survived by a son, Jacob, who lives with his mother in Long Island; his sister, Kimberly of Somerville and his mother Dorothy Story of Manahawkin. He leaves and aunt and uncle, Ann and Julio Abbruzzese of Mohawk, NY; their sons Joseph, Michael and Christopher and their respected families. Left also are aunt and uncle Phyllis and Ed Regan of Somerville and their children Joseph, Michael and Jennifer as well as their respected families and aunt and uncle Anne and Ronald Klass of PA and their son David and Matthew and their families. Graveside Funeral Service will be held 11am on Wednesday, July 20 at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 1096 Millstone River Rd., Hillsborough, NJ (Manville).
