Fred D. McGrew died July 14 at Somerset Medical Center. He was born in Cameron, SC and has been a resident of Somerville for 31 years.
Mr. McGrew retired from New York City Transit as a motorman in 1993 after 25 years. After retirement he worked as a crossing guard at Vanderveer School for 20 years. He served in the US Army from 1956 until 1958 and was Honorably Discharged from the Army Reserves in 1962.
Surviving are his wife, of 43 years, Dorothy, his children Fred Jr., Louise and Lois, Derryl, Andre and Darren, siblings Maggie, Joyce, Denise, James, Wally, Willie and John and 18 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Service 11am on Monday, July 22, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville. Interment to follow at Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Visiting hours will begin at 10am on Monday prior to Service at the funeral home.
