Betty L. Walker died on January 25, 2016. She was born in Plainfield and had lived in Bridgewater and Manville, currently in Somerville. She worked for Johnson & Johnson for 33 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Somerville, an avid reader, practiced yoga, studied Spanish, and swam at the YMCA. She was predeceased by her husband Richard in 2004. Surviving are her children, Richard Jr. of Phillipsburg and daughter, Sandra Tirrell (Phillip) of Middlesex, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one brother, Samuel Marriott of Barnegat, NJ. Private arrangements were directed by Cusick Funeral Home.
Rose Konat, wife of the late John Konat (1989) died January 23. Mrs. Konat was born in Scranton, PA and has been a resident of Bridgewater since 1969 and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville.
Surviving are her daughters Irene Konat, Sandra Habrukowich, Janet Oberman and devoted son-law Martin Oberman. Also surviving are her grandchildren Cheryl, Karen, Rachel and great grandson Luke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am on Wednesday, January 27, at the Immaculate Conception church, Somerville. Entombment to follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum, Bridgewater. Visiting hours on Tuesday (Today) from 4pm-7pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville.
Michael Andrew Merdinger of Hillsborough (Flagtown), NJ, passed away on January 18, 2016, surrounded by family. He was 67 years old.
Michael was born in Orange, NJ, and lived in Hillsborough for the last 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Hillsborough; his two daughters, Kristin Lee of Middletown, NJ, and Megan Merdinger-Robinson of Hillsborough; his two grandchildren, Mina and Theo Lee; and his brother, William Merdinger of Long Valley, NJ.
In his youth he was an Eagle Scout, and he maintained this spirit of helping others throughout his life. He traveled the country and the world managing the clean-up of contaminated sites through Foster Wheeler and later throughTetra Tech in Morris Plains, NJ, where he retired as an Environmental Manager. He was the Hillsborough Township Administrator, retiring from this position in 2012. He was an active member of Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 and the Hillsborough Rotary Club. He was a dedicated member of the community and held many different offices in the Township, including as Mayor and as a member of the Hillsborough Township Committee, Planning Board, Municipal Utilities Authority, and Environmental Commission.

Joseph Addolorato Cifelli
Joseph A. Cifelli, 84, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.
Joe was born on March 19, 1931, in Somerville NJ; third born son to Marcello & Assunta Cifelli. Joe was a longtime resident of Somerville until moving to Neshanic Station in 1973 with his beloved wife Elaine M. Cifell.
Joe, a decorated Airman of the United States Air Force,owned and operated a landscaping business for over 40 years until he retired in 2003.
He was a New York Yankees and New York Jets fan. Joe loved the outdoors, riding his tractor, working on his fire wood pile and spending time with his family, especially his two dearly loved grandchildren.
Joe is preceded by his wife of 46 years, Elaine M. Cifelli; his eldest son Mark A. Cifelli; his sister Julia M. Cifelli and his brother Albert S. Cifelli; survived by his youngest son Matthew J. Cifelli; his daughter Sue Ann Midura; his son-n-law Donald J. Midura; his adored grandchildren Robert and Katelin Midura, his brother Edward M. Cifelli and many nieces and nephews. Joe will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Joe had a well-lived life; an honorable man, a loving, gentle, kindhearted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend too many.
Visiting hours will begin at 2pm on Friday, January 22 and conclude with a Funeral Service at 4pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave, Somerville.

Carl H. Booth
Carl "Boots" Booth, husband of the late Georgiana (2013), died January 12 at RWJ at Somerset in Somerville. He was born in Rahway and resided in Edison most of his life before moving to Hillsborough in 2012.
Mr. Booth retired after many years as a self-employed truck driver. A member of the New Jersey National Guard, he is survived by his sons Scott Sr.(Tammy) and Wayne (Kerri) and his daughter Donna Booth, 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter and siblings Margaret, Caroline and Katherine.

Henry G. Kavanagh
WW II Navy Veteran
Henry G. Kavanagh, 93, of Bridgewater died January 10 at home. Mr. Kavanagh was born in New York City and resided in Warren, Barnegat and Brookfield at Belvidere before moving to Bridgewater recently.
He began his employment with Dow Chemical and retired in 1987 as the Executive Director of Traffic with National Starch and Chemical in Bridgewater.
A Navy Veteran of WW II, Mr. Kavanagh is survived by his wife of 74 years, Jean, his children, Eileen DiPaolo, Christine Kavanagh-Digra, Glenn Kavanagh and James Kavanagh and 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral Services are private.

Teresa Conti Biondo, 95, “Terry”, died peacefully in her sleep on January 7th 2016. Formerly of Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Clara Conti of Somerville.
She was predeceased by her sister Clara Ruff and her husband, Al Biondo. Al and Terry enjoyed a long happy partnership, not only as husband and wife but as a professional ballroom dance team that traveled the globe.
She is survived by her sister, Rita Greene and her nieces and nephews; Anita Lento and Michael Martin, Barbara Greene-Madden and Ed Madden, Annette Ruff and Leslea Shamp, Dawn and Bill Ruff and Linda and Teddy Biondo along with several great nieces and a nephew; Margot and Elaina Madden, Caitlin, Hannah and Judah Ruff.
Terry loved to laugh and brought joy to those around her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Services will be held 11am this Monday, January 11th, at Somerset Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 95 Mount Airy Road in Basking Ridge.

Allan Ross, 91, of Saylorsburg, PA, formerly of Bridgewater,NJ, died Saturday, January 2, 2016.
He was the husband of Helen Ross, who preceded him in death in 2013 after celebrating 62 years of marriage. Born on January 16, 1924 in Clydebank, Scotland, he served in The Royal Marines during World War II. He immigrated to the United States in 1957 where he worked as a Commercial Real Estate Manager until his retirement in 1987.
Surviving are his three sons, Alan Ross (and Sharon) of Saylorsburg, PA, David Ross of Tiverton, RI and Andrew Ross of Saylorsburg, PA, three grandchildren, Christina Ross, Allan Ross (and Tracy) and Samantha Ross (finance Alex Lombard) and his sister Elizabeth Cherry of Basking Ridge, NJ.
Visitation will begin at 1pm on Saturday, January 9, and conclude with a Funeral Serrvice at 2 pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville, NJ.

Margery Jane Mazey passed away on December 30. She was the daughter of Norman and Margery (Auten) Coates. Jane was a teacher in Hillsborough and Montgomery for 33 years and was preceded in death by her first husband James Westervelt and her son Barry Westervelt.
Jane is survived by her husband Robert C. Mazey, a son James Peter Westervelt, a brother Richard (Judy) Coates, a sister Betty-Jean (Bill) Hart and stepchildren Donna (Brian) Rose and Robert (Diane) Mazey. There are 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Also surviving are 3 nieces and 6 great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, January 17, 2016, at The Hillsborough Reformed Church at Millstone, 1 Amwell Road, Millstone.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jane's memory to the Heart Association, the Diabetes Association or The Hillsborough Reformed Church at Millstone.
