Gertrude Josephine Tarnovetchi (nee Straub), 85, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. 
 
Trudy, as she was fondly known to friends and family, was born in Gura Humora, Romania on October 29, 1932, grew up in Bad Ischl, Austria, and emigrated to the United States in 1952. She married her beloved husband, the late Titus Tarnovetchi Sr., in 1955. She was a longtime resident of Hillsborough, NJ but resided in Manville, NJ for the past 13 years. Trudy loved spending time with her grandchildren and visiting her daughter in California. 
 
She is survived by her daughter Victoria Tarnovetchi, son Titus Tarnovetchi Jr., daughter-law Donna Tarnovetchi, and three grandchildren, Stephanie, Michael, and Emily. 
 
Visiting hours will take place on Wednesday, January 3rd from 7-9 pm at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville, NJ.On Thursday, January 4, visiting hours will begin at 10am, followed by a funeral service at 11am. Interment, Neshanic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association (www.alz.org).

Kathleen M. Jacobs died Christmas Night at RWJ at somerset in Somerville. Ms Jacobs was born in Somerville and grew up there. She also resided in Raritan before moving to Bridgewater in 1997. Kathleen was employed by American Cyanamid in their payroll department for over 25 years retiring in 1992.

Her parents Jacob and Mary (Casey) Jacobs and siblings Robert Jacobs (Nancy), Rita Hoey (Joseph), Shirley Callas and John Jacobs predeceased her. Surviving are a sister-in-law Dolores Jacobs and nieces and nephews Claire Cichone (Ed), Joseph Hoey (Dana), Janice Jacobs, Robert Hoey (Laura), Joanne Jacobs, John Jacobs (Sue), Erin Callas and great nieces and nephews.

​Visiting will begin at 8am on Thursday, December 28, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Interment St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater.

Anne S. Stewart of Hillsborough, New Jersey, died in her home on 12/13/17 at approximately 11:30 am.  She is survived by her only son Robert, and her three daughters Linda, Karen, and Cindy.  She has seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. 

She was an active member of member of Mary, Mother of God Church and the Rosary Society for many years.  Also, she was an active member of the Hillsborough Senior Citizens Chapter B.  She was born in Pennsylvania, married in New Jersey, and moved to New Jersey in 1949 with her husband Robert.  They moved to this area in 1974 and owned a home and property on River Road in South Branch.  She and her husband owned American Steel Erectors, Inc., Vanguard Equipment Rentals.   In addition, they owned and operated two restaurants which were called Jacques in South Plainfield and Samantha's in North Branch.

Visiting hours on Friday (Today), December 15, from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at the Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville. A Mass of Christian will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16, at 10am at Mary, Mother of God Church, South Triangle Road, Hillsborough. Interment to follow at Neshanic Cemetery, Hillsborough.

William J. Keller, 67, of Somerville NJ, passed away on November 28, 2017. He was born in New Brunswick NJ on May 19, 1950. He was a 1968 graduate of Franklin High School in Somerset NJ and previously employed by Turner Tube in Cranbury and Far Away Places in New Brunswick. Bill was a talented musician playing guitar in various bands, along with clarinet, flute and keys. He enjoyed sketching and creating artwork which he shared with friends. Predeceased by his parents, Harold G. &amp; Shirley Pfannkoch Keller, he is survived by his sister, Janet A. Keller of Washington Twp NJ; brothers Harold “Bud” W. Keller and his wife Donna of Monroe Twp and Robert A. Keller and his wife Pamela of South Brunswick. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Final disposition will be private.

​Deanna Jameson, 79, of Hillsborough, NJ, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017, surrounded by loved ones at RWJUH Somerset. She will now forever be with her husband and soul mate of 48 years, Phil. Deanna had a joyful heart that she shared through her many volunteer efforts, as well as working at Somerset Medical Center for more than 20 years and as an active member of  St. John’s Episcopal Church in Somerville, she so loved her church family. She is survived by her children Mark Jameson, Tracey Jameson, Debbie Jelinek, son-in-law Kurt Jelinek, grandson Cooper Jelinek, foster son John Garrabrandt, her sisters Judy Ford and Linda Gates (John Gates), as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and her cherished dog, Rocky. A service in celebration of her life will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Somerville,
on Saturday, December 16 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Memorial Fund in her name.

Seraph Jimenez Jr. died suddenly on November 29 at home. Seraph was born in Brooklyn, NY and resided in Manville before moving to Bridgewater in 2012. He was employed as a security guard for Adesa in Manville. A member of the Eagles Aerie #2137 in Bridgewater for 35 years and a social member of the American Legion Post 12 of Somerville, Mr. Jimenez loved spending time with his "grand boys", playing his Bongo and just enjoying his music.

Surviving are his wife, Krystyna (Hendershot) Jimenez, his children Dawn, son-in-law Joseph, Nicholas, daughter-in-law Laura and Christopher, daughter -in-law Sandy, his grandchildren Nicholas, Noah, Cameron and Casidhe. Also surviving are his siblings Gladys, Beatrice and Lumie.

Visiting hours will begin at 4:30pm Friday, December 8, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville and conclude with a Funeral Service at 6:30pm at the funeral home.

​Geraldine “Gerri” W. Hansen, age 87, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, November 27, 2017.
Born April 22, 1930, in Plainfield, NJ, Gerri lived in Bridgewater, NJ for the past 50 years. She worked as the Registrar of Vital Statistics in Somerville for 40 years, retiring in 2010.

Known for her wit and strong-will, Gerri relished spending time with her family. She was an avid reader for most of her life and enjoyed sharing that love with her grandchildren. In recent years, Gerri (or Gigi as she was known to them), especially enjoyed spending quality time with her two young great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Steven de Zutter of Bedminster, NJ; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Miriam Hansen of Nashville, TN; four grandchildren, Laura, Jeffrey, Kendra and Skylar; and two great-grandchildren, Harper and Holden. Gerri was preceded in death by her husband, Einer, in 1975.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30 at 5:00 pm followed by a service at 6:00 pm at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave, Somerville, New Jersey. Cremation will be held in private.]]>

Donald James MacGillivray Jr, 33, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away on November 17, 2017.

Donnie moved to Florida in 2014 coming from Flemington, New Jersey.

He had a big heart and was a loving man. He was known to be helpful and was always willing to lend a hand when needed. He loved nature, people, and animals; especially his dogs Princess, Crissy, and Smokey. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include parents, Donald and Kathleen MacGillivray of Stratford, Prince Edward Island, Canada; sisters, Heather MacGillivray of Port Saint Lucie, Florida and Erin (Ronald) Vaive of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada; niece, Rylee Vaive; paternal grandmother, Theresa MacGillivray of Somerville, New Jersey; as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation will be held on November 28, 2017 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville, New Jersey. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 35 Mountain Ave, Somerville, NJ.

A memorial service will be held at Fern House on Church Street in West Palm Beach, Florida, the evening of December 2nd, 2017.

Fred Schneider, 63, died on Friday, October 13th at RWJ Somerset. He was a lifelong Somerville resident and retired in May of 2016 from the US Postal Service in Bridgewater after 23 years. Fred was a man of few words who took great pride in his yard and enjoyed watching football, gambling, gardening, playing cards with friends and his trips to St. Martin.  

He was predeceased by his parents Lambert and Anne, and his brothers Lambert and Eddie. Fred is survived by his wife Trish, mother-in-law Donna Garay, Lambert's wife Pat and their sons Bert (Anna), and Nick (Melissa) and Tricia's brothers and sisters;  Donnie (Marian) and their children Anne Marie, David and Carolyn, Laurie Roche (George), Lynn Fesen (Rob), Michelle, Mark, Dale (Cindy) and their sons Evan and Brian, Tim, Chris and his son Max, and his lifelong and best friend Charlie Adler (TJB).

Visitation Tuesday, October 17 from 5-9pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville.  Please dress casually.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am Wednesday, October 18, at Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Followed by an interment at the New Cemetery, Somerville.

Charlotte A. Picone, a mother, artist, beautician, homemaker, and longtime resident of Somerset County, died on October 13, 2017 at the age of 74. She died peacefully at home with family attending.

She was predeceased by her husband Michael Picone. She is survived by Gregory R. Picone (Heather), Michael J. Picone MD (Colleen), two grandchildren Lauren, and Ryan, and brother Jack.

She was a devoted wife and mother and had many talents and hobbies. She was recognized by the NJ Watercolor Society and had some of her works displayed in international galleries. Charlotte has groomed and shown prize winning West Highland Terriers. She enjoyed sailing, travel, and gourmet cooking.

She will be missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, October 16, at 11:30am at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville and then onto the New Cemetery, South Bridge St., Somerville for a Graveside Service at 12:30pm
